PAOK B chalk up first win [pictures]

A two-goal salvo from Giorgos Koutsias inspired PAOK B to their first win of the Betsson Super League 2 as the Double-headed Eagle defeated Apollon Pontou 3-0 on Matchday 5.

28.11.2021

PAOK B dominated the game right from the first minute and overall produced an excellent all-round display, imposing their game on their opponents and creating a plethora of scoring opportunities.

Tsaousis and Koutsias were the first to threaten, with PAOK closing Apollon back in their own half and laying siege to the home goal.

The hosts came out of their shell and on the attack for the first time in the 26th minute and had a good chance with a direct free-kick, but PAOK B continued at the same pace thereafter and were finally vindicated for their efforts with a goal in the 33rd minute.

Koulouris sent over an excellent cross into the penlty area, Koutsias brought the ball under control impressively and then made it 1-0 with the powerful shot.

Four minutes later, the hosts were then left with 10 players when Bargan was shown a direct red card for a bad foul on Koulierakis.

PAOK B then wasted two more good opportunities with Gaitanidis and Koulouris failing to convert, only for Koutsias to find the target in the second minute of added time at the end of the first half to actually end the game as a contest. Tsaousis was the architect, sending in a cross which the young forward latched on to with a header to score and send the teams into the dressing room with PAOK B 2-0 ahead.

The second half was purely procedural in nature. The Double-headed Eagle were again in complete control and in the 59th minute scored a third goal. Kalogeris attempted to challenge Koutsias and inadvertently sent the ball to his own net.

PAOK B could have made it 4-0, but Grosdis hit the crossbar in the 85th minute and the final score remained 3-0.
