Kurtic’s smart free-kick
Kurtic’s intelligent free-kick goal against ΑΕΚ at the ΟΑΚΑ has been voted as the Regency Casino Best Goal of March via the poll on paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App.
PAOK held their own in another game against AEK even if they had to play for a large part of the game with a numerical disadvantage. Levi Garcia put The Union ahead, but Jasmin Kurtic had the last word.
The Slovenian set the ball down on hte edge of the penalty area in the 36th minute in a position that few would think of trying to score directly from. But The Sniper is not your average free-kick executor. He is a specialist, and he proved it emphatically once again.
He managed to squeeze the ball through the wall of AEK players and get the ball to pop up right in front of Tsintotas’ dive, with the AEK goalkeeper only able to parry the ball into the back of the net.
In the resulting poll for the Regency Casino Best Goal of March, Kurtic won the top spot with 53.04% of the votes, leaving Douglas Augusto’s winning strike in Gent in second place, while third place went to Leo Jaba’s individual effort in Lamia.
