Khaled Narey joins PAOK

PAOK FC announces the acquisition of Kaled Narey from Fortuna Dusseldorf. The German winger signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2026.

17.07.2022

Narey was born on July 23, 1994 in Neuwied, Germany to Togolese parents. He grew up in Leverkusen and started playing football at a young age in local academies before moving to Bayer Leverkusen in 2010.

Three years later he played for the first time at senior men’s level with Bayer Leverkusen’s second team and his performances persuaded Dortmund to make a move for him. He stayed at Borussia until 2016, but he spent one season in the second team and one season on loan at Paderborn, where he began his journey in the 2.Bundesliga.

In July 2016, he signed a three-year contract with Groeter Firth, where he played in 70 games in two seasons, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists.

In the summer of 2018, Hamburg rebuilt their squad and being relegated. The club’s management chose Narey for their right wing and history vindicated the decision.

Overall, he played 84 times in a Hamburg shirt, scoring 11 goals, while providing eight assists – numbers that could have been much higher had he not had an injury in the 2019-20 season. Also worth mentioning is the fact that in many games he played as a right-back due to a lack of alternatives.

In the summer of 2021 he terminated his contract with Hamburg by mutual consent and signed for Fortuna Dusseldorf with whom he had the best season of his career. His record was 32 games, eight goals, and 15 assists, with Narey being one of the top wingers in the league.

Narey was PAOK’s choice for the team’s wing positions, and after the agreement with Fortuna, the German is now a resident of Thessaloniki.
