Regrouping and a return to Serres
PAOK got what they wanted in Agrinio and now turn their attention to Serres. Razvan Lucescu’s team started their preparations for the upcoming match in earnest on on Monday afternoon (26.02).
The players who were in the starting lineup against Panaitolikos followed a recovery and rehabilitation program including work on the pitch, in the the gym and in the swimming pool.
The rest of the group worked with the technical staff on tactics, through various drills and a friendly match.
Taison resumed full training as normal, Baba sat out part of the program as part of his rehabilitation from the head injury he sustained against Panathinaikos in the cup game, while Dominik Kotarski remained sidelined as he continues to struggle with a virus.
The game in Agrinio also brought some bad injury news, as Joan Sastre suffered a rib injury. Due to the extent of the injury, the Spaniard’s condition will be assessed daily.
Finally, William Troost-Ekong was re-examined, and the tests confirmed the original diagnosis. The Nigerian has suffered a torn muscle and will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair his injury.
On Tuesday (27.02) PAOK will train at 17:00 and then depart by coach for Serres.
