- In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Celta was nicknamed “EuroCelta” due to their impressive European run. They recorded, among others, a 4-1 aggregate win over Liverpool, a 4-0 win over Juventus and an 8-1 aggregate win over Benfica.
- They reached the semi-finals of the Europa League in the 2016–17 season, where they were eliminated by Manchester United, who went on to win the trophy.

- Celta’s original emblem was a red shield with two stylized letters C (Club Celta) and the royal crown of Spain. The following year, the color of the shield changed to the traditional light blue. Like many other Galician teams, such as Compostela and Racing Ferrol, the emblem also depicts the red cross of Saint James.
