PAOK B suffer first defeat in play outs
PAOK B suffered their first defeat of the Super League 2 play outs in Chrysoupoli. After five consecutive victories, the winning streak was broken by Nestos, who won 1-0 in their Matchday 3 clash on Saturday.
PAOK B remain on 18 points with Nestos and Kavala now on 16. The next game for PAOK’s second string is a home game against Kampaniakos.
The Double-headed Eagle started better, moved the ball around with greater confidence and were clearly more mobile, albeit without managing to create a clear opening. Nestos, however, managed to get a breakthrough in the 36th minute, when Sapountzis made 1-0 with a header.
In the second half, an under-pressure PAOK B tried to get back on level terms but it is true that it they not perform well. A characteristic of the way the game went is that although the visitors were good in their build-up play, especially after some changes were made to personnel, they could not create a good chance to score. On the contrary, the home team missed two further chances to extend their lead, in the 86th minute and in injury time through Stavropoulos. PAOK B did not show composure in the final stretch of the game and despite trying until the end to equalize, they were unable to score and take a point.
