PAS Giannina – PAOK: Mixed zone

What Dimitris Pelkas and Alexandros Paschalakis said after the final whistle of the encounter against PAS Giannina in Zosimades Stadium:

04.02.2018

Dimitris Pelkas returned to action after suffering a nose injury in the Greek Cup encounter against Atromitos and combined his comeback with a goal. Here is his post-match reaction:

«We scored early and then dominated the game with assurance. We netted two more goals and finished off the encounter. It’s what we intended in other matches as well –this time we achieved it.

There were more spaces available to us after our opponents switched tactics. The pitch was heavy and at times it would mess with our explosiveness. But we got used to the situation and it was no longer a problem after a few minutes.

It’s obvious that there is chemistry within the team. A few months ago, we kept saying we needed time in order to blend. We play better from game to game and now we are focusing on the next Greek Cup encounter.

It’s not important if I will score or someone else. Only victory matters. If someone said we would win 1-0 with an own-goal, I would say “thank you” and look ahead to the next game. Our objective is to win the league«.

Alexandros Paschalakis returned to Zosimades Ground, as an opponent this time around, and spoke about how he felt being back and about conceding his first goal at PAOK:

«Conceding that goal didn’t decide the match. We won and we are at the top of the standings. We want to remain there until the end and achieve all our objectives.

I wasn’t feeling pressured by my past as a PAS Giannina player. We want to win and achieve our goals. My streak of clean sheets is not so important.

We spoke with Conde about the goal. He even said he was… sorry. Pedro is a quality player and can score with the first half-chance he gets. After PAS Giannina netted their goal, we didn’t lose our coherence and sailed to victory.

I understand the fans of PAS Giannina and their disapprovement, because they are sad. I spent great moments here and, up until a few months ago, I was cheered here«.
