Self-criticism and concentration
It’s a fact that everyone at PAOK camp is disappointed with their failure to qualify to the UEFA Europa League round of 32 and their home loss to BATE Borisov that sealed their European journey in an embarrassing way.
The “Double-Headed Eagle” had the potential to continue in the competition, but couldn’t bring it out on the pitch. The day after for PAOK means self-criticism for the errors committed and focus on the Greek league.
Their effort in the league helped them overcome the two-point deduction and the pressure, remain undefeated and lead the standings seven points ahead of second-placed Atromitos.
Their journey in the UEFA Europa League is a source for concern, but doesn’t write off what the team have already accomplished.
On Friday (14 December), PAOK trained in Nea Mesimvria. Those who started the encounter against BATE Borisov did recuperation and decompression work.
Dimitris Pelkas (right calf) and André Vieirinha (left hamstring) underwent medical tests. Results will reveal the extent of their injuries and their time on the sidelines.
Saturday’s training session is scheduled to start at 17:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
