Focus on tactics and the returning internationals
Everyone at the club is counting down the days until PAOK returns to Super League action this coming weekend. Abel Ferreira and his coaching staff have been focusing on tactics and welcoming players back from international duty ahead of the match against Lamia.
Esiti, Ingasson and Mihaj completed their commitments with their respective national teams and returned to training on Wednesday morning (16.10), while Giannoulis, Limnios and Paschalakis are expected to join up with the squad on Thursday (17.10) following their participation in Greece’s 2-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at the OAKA in Athens.
Wednesday’s training was dedicated once again to tactics. The players worked with the technical staff in some 2-on-1 and 2-on-2 situations, following some specific instructions and drills.
In the treatment room, Fernando Varela began his road to recovery after knee surgery, while Omar El Kadourri is expected to return from Moroccan national team duty on Thursday and undergo tests to determine the extent of an injury he picked up. Finally, Pontus Wernbloom continued his individual recovery program in the pool and gym.
On Thursday (17.10) the squad will train in the afternoon at 16:30 in Nea Mesimvria.
