Next up… the derby

Before the season even kicked off, December 1 was the date most Greek football fans would have marked in their diaries. For the playing and coaching staff at PAOK, however, this was not the case, as the club has plenty of matches to occupy itself with. Now though, the time as come for everyone at the club to start the preparations in earnest for the trip to face Olympaicos.

26.11.2019

Against Larissa, PAOK did not pass up the opportunity to take all three points and take full advantage of Olympiacos’ 1-1 draw with Panionios in Nea Smyrni. The outcome was PAOK moving to the top of the Super League table, and the derby at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium is next on the agenda.

In Tuesday’s (26.11) training session the players were split into two groups. Those who started the game on Sunday (24.11) followed a fitness program in the gym and swimming pool, while those who were not involved against Larissa trained on the practice pitches with the coaching staff, focusing on possession, passing,  and, of course, fitness.

In terms of injuries in the wake of the match against Larissa, only Leo Jaba and Pontus Wernbloom are sidelined, and both continue to follow their respective individual recovery programs.

Wednesday’s (27.11) training session is scheduled for 10:30 at Nea Mesimvria.
