PAOK and AEK played out a tense goalless draw in the first leg of their last eight cup tie at the Toumba. The Double-headed Eagle were in control for most of the match, with the visitors having a largely passive role while trying to get something out of their counter-attacks.

The major protagonist for PAOK proved to be Alexandros Paschalakis. The big goalkeeper did not have to intervene on many ocassions, but he was as solid as ever when he was really needed by his team. The highlight of this display was his save from Jevtic and another from Zuber.

And in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match award, The Goldkeeper received 62.82% of the votes to claim the individual title.

In second place was the excellent Lefteris Lyratzis, who produced another mature and impressive performance, helping the team in both defense and attack down the right flank.
