Character needed for the season finale…
“These situations require strength and character.” Razvan Lucescu knows better than anyone that PAOK is going through a difficult period in their season and that the team must respond in order to “lock up” second place and retain the Greek Cup.
The problems that the team is facing of late have had a psychological impact and the players have displayed the lack of a clear and composed mind in critical moments. While these things do not help a team to get out of a crisis, however, in these final 10 days of the season PAOK are called upon to show their character. The kind of character which has been prominent for much of the season, the kind of character which has helped them out of tight spots when it’s a case of backs to the wall.
The answer must be given on the pitch. Where PAOK wins all their games. The squad has three games ahead of it to prove that it can come out victorious, even if the players are hurting on this adventure.
From the very next day after the match with Aris, players and coach started working on their own «comeback». The players who played from the start against Aris followed a special recovery training program. The rest of the group followed a high intensity session of physical exercises and ball movement.
Omar El Kaddouri trained regularly with the main group, Jose Angel Crespo and Diego Biseswar followed part of the training session as they continued their gradual reintegration program, and Vieirinha, Augusto, and Lyratzis trained individually. Leo Jaba, who has returned from Brazil, also followed a reintegration program.
On Friday (13.05) PAOK will train at 11:00 at the Toumba.
