Squad announced for Asteras match
Making it to the UEFA Champions League group stage has always been a dream and a challenge. But right now it’s not a priority for PAOK. Now there is only the Super League and the opening encounter with Asteras Tripolis, 20.112 season tickets and a packed Toumba Stadium, thirsty for attractive football.
Besides Răzvan Lucescu asked the fans to support the team from minute one and help them start their league engagements on the right foot.
The Romanian tactician saw all his players train normally, however he cannot count on Maurício and Fernando Varela who are carrying a suspension from last season’s Greek Cup final.
PAOK’s last training session was held in Toumba Stadium and focused on tactical details and set-piece practice. Alin Toșca was not included in the match squad, after his tiring day with the flight and medical tests. It was deemed preferable to rest him and have him start trainings on Saturday 25 August with the players who were left out of the squad.
