Moisés Hurtado Pérez, born in 1981 in Sabadell, Spain, is a former professional football player and coach. During his playing career, he primarily operated as a defensive midfielder, while also being capable of playing as a central defender.
He began his football career in the youth academy of RCD Espanyol and made his professional debut in 2002. Following a successful loan spell at SD Eibar, he established himself as a key player for Espanyol’s first team, winning the Copa del Rey in 2006 and reaching the UEFA Cup Final in 2007. He later joined Olympiacos FC, where he won the Greek Super League title during the 2010–11 season. He subsequently played for Granada CF and Girona FC before retiring from professional football in 2014. Throughout his career, he made more than 350 official club appearances.
After retiring as a player, Moisés transitioned into coaching. He joined the RCD Espanyol Academy, where he focused on the development of young players before becoming Head Coach of UE Figueres in 2021. He later served as Assistant Coach at CD Lugo, gaining valuable experience in the professional environment of LaLiga 2. In 2023, he continued his international coaching career in China with the Jiangsu Football Association, where he led the U16 Representative Team Development Programme, overseeing elite youth player development and implementing modern coaching methodologies.
Moisés Hurtado holds the UEFA Pro Licence and the RFEF Sporting Director Licence. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Catalan.
